Child Care Food Program

The Child Care Food Program Is A Nationally Funded Program, Sponsored By The United States Department Of Agriculture And Administered By The WV Department Of Education. It Is Consistent With The Objective That No Person In The US Shall, On The Grounds Of Race, Color, National Origin, Sex, Religion, Or Handicapping Conditions, Be Excluded From Participation Or Be Denied The Benefits Of Or Be Discriminated Against, Under Any Program Or Activity Of The Recipient To Which Assistance Is Provided By The USDA.

Help Me Grow West Virginia

Help Me Grow is a FREE referral service that connects families with critical developmental resources for their children birth through five years. The goal of Help Me Grow is to successfully identify children at-risk and link them to the help they need.

West Virginia Birth to Three

WV Birth to Three is a statewide system of services and supports for children under age three who have a delay in their development, or may be at risk of having a delay, and their family. The Department of Health and Human Resources, through the Bureau for Public Health and the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health, WV Birth to Three, as the lead agency for Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), assures that family centered, community based services are available to all eligible children and families at no cost.

Wood County Society provides programs and resources to individuals with disabilities throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley including the following counties:
West Virginia - Wood, Jackson, Roane, Ritchie, Wirt, Calhoun, Tyler, Mason and Pleasants Counties. 

Ohio - Washington, Athens, and Meigs Counties.

CHOICES, WV

If you are a West Virginia resident of Wood, Pleasants, Ritchie, Wirt, Harrison, Doddridge, Calhoun, or Gilmer counties, you meet certain income guidelines and participate in a qualifying activity, you may be eligible for financial aid for child care costs.

Examples of a qualifying activity are:

  • WV Works participant

  • Participation in training or education programs

  • Working
